What is Your Truth?

Updated: Aug 22, 2023

Your truth comes from the unfolding of your heart. It’s not to be found or discovered. It’s meant to be felt, to be deeply known, to erupt out of your being from a place deep inside.

What does it mean to be authentic? To live your life authentically?

It means knowing who you are and living your life in accordance with that.

It means knowing, living and being one with your truth, your satya.

From the second we are born, we are immediately surrounded by external stimuli. A web of external sensations, opinions, and experiences that begin to shape our perceptions. As we grow up, that web continues to get more complex, more intricate and often muddles our sense of who we actually are.

The journey of life is about unwinding that web. It’s about coming back into connection with our truth and aligning our lives from that place. It’s about taking the time to understand ourselves, our nature, our dharma (what we’re here to share with the world). It’s about being in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.

So, eventually, we become one. One being. Living one life. We come into a place where there is zero separation between who we are, how we connect internally and how we live externally.

Truth is a big word. A powerful word.

Truth is the unfolding of our heart. It’s not to be found or discovered. It’s meant to be felt, to be deeply known, to erupt out of our being from a place deep inside. It’s not external, it’s internal. It’s the most core, raw thing that lives within us yet… it is rarely fully felt, rarely fully known, and even more rarely fully lived.

Have you ever seen someone who is deeply satisfied with their life? Someone who exudes grounded contentment? With the presence of a unique loving depth in their eyes? A knowing that they are right where they need to be? When you come into contact with them you feel admiration, awe, a shared sense of connection. This is the embodiment of being one with truth. The power of being one with truth.

In a society that often rewards conformity, living your life authentically is a bold act, a rebellious act. One that takes courage and bravery.

In a society that often rewards conformity, living your life authentically is a bold act, a rebellious act. One that takes courage and bravery.

Yet it is also the source of your greatest power and the reward is one of the upmost fulfillment.

Invitations for Reflection

What does truth mean to me?

  • What does it mean to live in accordance with my truth?

  • Why do I want to live truthfully?

Where in my life am I living authentically? Where am I conforming to how I believe I “should” be living?

  • Where have I seen the benefits of living truthfully?

  • What are the implications of living by the “shoulds”?

What steps could I take to deepen my connection to my truth?

  • What’s one area of life where I want to focus on living in deeper alignment with my truth?

Reflections in the comments are oh so welcome xx

with love,
